Physician Joins Greencastle Team as Clinical Management Consultant

Former NIH researcher, instructor adds to firm’s clinical insight

MALVERN, Penn. — September 17, 2007— Greencastle Consulting, a project management and consulting services firm focused on clinical transformation through healthcare information technology, has announced that Michelle D. Donald, MD, has joined the company as a clinical management consultant. In her new position, Donald will work as part of a collaborative team that plans, coordinates and manages the successful completion of high complexity clinical technology projects for acute and ambulatory health providers.

“I am very excited to be joining the Greencastle team,” said Donald. “What is challenging to me about this new role is coming in as a clinician and being able to work on the business management side of healthcare with an insider’s knowledge. In this market, it has always been my experience that the clinician’s voice must be heard in all large-scale clinical initiatives and strategic business endeavors for there to be long-term success.”

Dr. Donald’s specialties have been established in preventive medicine and pediatrics. Prior to joining Greencastle, she was affiliated with SUNY/Stony Brook as a clinical instructor in the department of preventive medicine. She also served as a consultant to Pfizer, and as a clinical researcher at Long Island Poison Control and Injury Prevention, the Veterans Administration Hospital and the National Institutes of Health, where she was awarded the Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) for her work in cell biology research. She was also awarded the Physician Training Award in Preventive Medicine by the American Cancer Society.

Dr. Donald completed her medical training at Stony Brook University Hospital and North Shore Schneider Children’s Hospital, and received her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. In May, she received a master’s in public health from Columbia Mailman School of Public Health.

“We are extremely pleased to be adding a physician of Michelle’s caliber to our staff,” said Mark Stabile, senior partner, Greencastle Consulting. “As a physician, researcher and educator, Michelle will bring extensive, value-added clinical expertise and insight to our clients and clinical transformation projects.”
